How does it work?

Subcision is a treatment that provides a meaningful improvement in the appearance of depressed scars. The process involves breaking up the fibrotic strands the cause the scar to be tethered to the underlying tissues. By carefully breaking up these strands, the body is stimulated to produce collagen, restoring elasticity and improving the appearance of these scars.

This treatment can help you treat the following conditions:

  • Acne Scars
  • Deep Wrinkles
  • Skin Irregularities
  • Scars from: chicken pox, wounds and surgery

Pre-Treatment Care

  • To prepare your skin for the treatment, you need to stop using topical exfoliants, or skin lightening creams 1-3 days before treatment.
  • Try avoiding sun exposure and applying sunscreen regularly to reduce collagen breakdown. Keep in mind to postpone your treatment if you are sunburnt.
  • Avoid alcoholic drinks and smoking 2 weeks prior to the treatment.

Post-Treatment Care

After treatment, skin must be adequately cared for to prevent bacteria and dirt from accumulating. Follow-up care is especially important for treated areas of the skin.

  • Keep your skin clean and moisturized
  • Avoid makeup post treatment for least 24 hours
  • Avoid sun exposure
  • Don’t pick at your skin during the healing process.

Right after your treatment, your skin will have a white discoloration and the area around the tattoo may become reddish and appear swollen. This is normal and will disappear slowly over time.
